Our Top 5 Fashion Stylists

By on April 13, 2015

Imagine playing dress-up for a career – every little girls dream, right? Professional stylists are popping up all over the globe, but it isn’t child’s play. These professionals are university graduates of fashion design and the like who take their colour palette and pattern matching seriously. It takes a lot of pop and pizzazz to make it in the stylist industry.

Here’s a list of a few gals that are really shinning right now.

A graduate from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California, Lindsay’s resume is quite impressive. Beginning with a stylist position at Entertainment Tonight, she’s been involved with several other television programs and award shows. But we love her mostly because of her adorable styling video blogs found on her website.  Keep those tips coming our way, Lindsay!

Alexis Honce is best known for her position as lead stylist and fashion expert on CTV’s The Marilyn Denis Show. But her credentials don’t stop there. This styling powerhouse has a list of impressive clients including bigwig companies such as MAC Cosmetics and Virgin Mobile, as well as celebs like Ryan Gosling (swoon) and Shenae Grimes. With features in Flare Magazine and the Globe and Mail, this girl is just getting started.

A girl after my own heart, Christine Cameron of  does triple duty as a stylist, writer and editor. With her work featured all over from Harpers Bazaar to Glamour magazine online, she’s making her way through the stylist world one feature at a time. ‘My outfits’ tab on her website is my absolute fave! Christine is that chic Manhattan girl that everyone envies, but through her writing you can tell she’s so down to earth. You would swear she’s the friend you’re meeting for coffee later!

Alexandra Greenawalt positions herself as a “style strategist, wardrobe rehabilitator, image expert”. Splitting her expertise between styling models for photo shoots and dealing one-on-one with private clients, Alexandra has developed a well-rounded portfolio in order to live up to her titles. We love her because she helps clients to mix and match pieces in their own closet before she takes them out shopping. Sometimes all you need is fresh eyes on an existing wardrobe to make it feel new again!

A believer in re-vamping the LBD for many occasions, Leslie Christen is a costume designer turned personal stylist. You can see her pops of personality in her fun jewelry and leopard shoes. An Orange County resident, Leslie has been featured in several local publications and focuses her website around growing her client base, while educating her readers on how to make style their own.

About Devon Balcain

Devon is a Fashion Management and Promotions post grad student at Humber College. She graduated from McMaster University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours English degree and spent the last two years working for a financial advisor in her hometown of Burlington, Ontario. One day she woke up and realized that the highlight of her day was picking out an outfit; conventional office work just wasn’t her thing. She decided right then and there that she needed to pursue her true passion – fashion, and she hasn’t looked back since! Devon is hoping to expand her horizons through volunteering at fashion events and securing a fun and engaging internship for the summer. Along side school she also works part time at Banana Republic where she loves working one-on-one with customers to pick out the perfect outfit for them.
