WESTHOUSE HOTEL NEW YORK: #INRESIDENCE
There’s something to be said about a hotel in Manhattan that makes you question whether you should venture out to explore the city that never sleeps, or not. Personally, I’ve never had this happen before. As someone who frequents Manhattan, and thoroughly enjoys exploring the city for all that it has to offer, I was puzzled when I made the decision to spend the evening indulging in WestHouse Hotel’s thoughtful amenities during my stay.
I’ve literally never been so impressed by the hospitality a hotel has to offer. Customer satisfaction, guaranteed. For an extra $35 per adult (the cost of a can of small pringles at any other hotel) the hotels conveniently adds a vast array of bespoke, and unlimited, #InResidence privileges including:
Sweet and savory breakfast presentations, weekdays 6:30-10:30 AM, weekend 7-11 AM, on The Terrace, located on the 23rd floor
Barista bar and non-alcoholic beverages available all day, on The Terrace
High Tea served daily from 2-4 PM in The Den
Evening light fare served daily from 5-8 PM in The Den
Hours of Indulgence, a curated selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages every evening from 5-11 PM in The Den
High-speed Wi-Fi access
Local and toll-free phone calls
24-hour Fitness Center, on the 3rd floor
24-hour business center services
Bottled water in-room
Choice of daily digital newspapers and magazines
The hotel also provides live entertainment in the lounge on several evenings throughout the week. During my stay I had the pleasure of listening to a live jazz duo and meeting their in-house artist aka A.E Kieren who is hired to sit quietly at the bar and sketch patron’s at random to which he surprises with his artwork. Check out his beautiful work @aekieren on Instagram. It is of no surprise that WestHouse Hotel New York has been nominated for Travel + Leisure World’s Best 2016 award (my vote has been casted!).
It must be known that the hotel entrance, corridors and lounges are decorated with beautiful nostalgic trinkets, including skeleton keys (an odd fascination/obsession of mine) as well as photo-worthy black & white tiles – perfect for the millennials looking for social content.
All in all I will most certainly be returning and I can honestly say it is currently my favourite hotel in Manhattan due to the unparalleled hospitality, impeccable cleanliness, helpful & friendly staff, convenient location (subway right outside the door) and feel-good memories that I will keep with me forever. I’ve already made more recommendations to several people to ensure they experience this fabulous hotel for themselves. A must try!
